New Delhi: Delhi is expected to get more rains on Sunday, April 5. The maximum temperature in the city will be around 31 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will hover around 18 degrees Celsius, said the India Meteorological Department in its latest weather update for the national capital. The rains have brought an unusual chill to Delhi at the beginning of April. IMD forecast for next 5 days in Delhi While Sunday will be a rainy day for the city, on Monday, the rains are likely to reduce but cloudy skies will continue to prevail in the city. The temperature is expected to rise to 33 degrees Celsius on the day, said the weather department. On Saturday, the maximum temperature in the city was 32 degrees Celsius, which was 2 degrees below normal. The minimum was recorded at 20.7 degrees Celsius, 1.9 degrees above normal. Overnight rains (Intervening night of Saturday and Sunday) also hit the Delhi-NCR on the day. For Tuesday, the IMD has issued a yellow alert. They have forecast one of two spells of light to very light rains for the day. The rains will be accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds of 30 to 40 km/hr. The maximum temperature in the city is expected to remain below 34 degrees Celsius, for the next 6 days. On Wednesday, the weather will change once again and the city will experience thunderstorms and heavy rains. The latest forecast of IMD suggests that Delhi would continue to experience a mix of rains, thunderstorms and cloudy weather throughout next week. AQI in Delhi Talking about the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) said that the city had poor AQI on Friday. It was recorded at 266. In fact 33 air monitoring stations in the city recorded poor air quality on the day. 7 air monitoring stations recorded 'Very Poor' air and only 1 station recorded 'moderate' air for the day. AQI level between 0 to 50 is considered good, between 51 to 100 as satisfactory, between 101 to 200 as 'moderate', between 201 to 300 as 'poor', between 301 to 400 as 'very poor' and 401 to 500 as 'severe'. The IMD has warned people across Delhi-NCR to remain cautious amidst the rapidly changing weather that the national capital is witnessing.
