MP News: Molestation Of 13-year-old Triggers Violence In Neemuch's Village

Neemuch (Madhya Pradesh): Serious unrest erupted in Parda village under the Manasa police station area of Neemuch district on Thursday following allegations of molestation of a 13-year-old girl. Police arrested Abdul Rahman (55), who allegedly lured the minor to his house and subjected her to indecent acts. The incident triggered widespread outrage, prompting a large gathering of villagers at the village square. Protesters staged a road blockade and demanded strict punishment for the suspect, along with demolition of his house, which they alleged was an illegal structure. The administration responded by affixing an encroachment notice on the property and bringing a JCB machine to the site by Thursday afternoon. As tension escalated, a section of the crowd broke into the suspect's house and vandalised the property. When police intervened, some people pelted stones at the force. Police used a lathi charge and fired tear gas shells to disperse the crowd, triggering panic in the village. Police arrested the suspect soon after the incident. Officials detained more than five individuals, seized 10 motorcycles and began identifying others through video footage. Heavy police deployment continues in the area as a precautionary measure. ADM BL Kalesh said, "The process for taking action in accordance with the law is underway. The administration's primary priority is to maintain law and order." ASP Naval Singh Sisodia said, "Villagers protested against the incident. Some vandalised the suspect's house and pelted stones at police. Police used mild force and tear gas to restore order."
