Shimla, Oct 22 (PTI) The higher reaches of Lahaul and Spiti district and Manali in Himachal Pradesh received fresh snowfall, leading to a dip in the minimum temperature, officials said on Wednesday. The snowfall has brought smiles to tourism stakeholders in Manali and Lahaul and Spiti as they are expecting an increase in the tourist footfall. Light rains were witnessed in some parts of the state with Manali receiving 12 mm, Bharmaur 11.5 mm, Keylong 6 mm, Bhuntar 3.6 mm, Seobagh 2.4 mm, Palampur 2 mm, Kukumseri 1.2 mm, the Shimla Met office said. The Shimla Meteorological Office issued an orange warning on Saturday for hailstorms in four to five districts on April 7 and 8. Bengaluru Crime: A woman's body, believed to be between 30 and 35 years old, was found stuffed inside a sack and dumped in a garbage truck in Bengaluru early Thursday. Shimla, Jul 4 (PTI) Forty-three people have been killed and 37 gone missing in Himachal Pradesh due to the ravages of weather - cloudburst, flash floods, landslide - since the onset of monsoon last month, officials on Friday said. Monsoon hit the state on June 20 and has since then cost it Rs 5,000 crore in damages.
