Chandigarh, Dec 18 (UNI) Chandigarh administration on Wednesday told the Punjab and Haryana High Court that noise levels in Singer-Actor Diljeet Dosanjh's concert on last Saturday exceeded noise levels. The UT administration informed the court that noise levels exceeded the limit prescribed by Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000 and the action is proposed under Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 and Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000. The Court, hearing a PIL, had allowed the concert with some riders. It had also directed the UT administration to file a compliance report. Earlier, Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) had also issued an advisory to the actor-singer asking him not to invite children on stage considering noise levels and also avoid singing songs glorifying alcohol and violence.
