Ahmedabad: On Friday, the city experienced an overcast sky but little to no rain until 8pm. According to India Meteorological Department's (IMD) forecast, Saturday will be a little wet, due to light to moderate rain. On Friday, 181 out of 252 talukas received at least 1mm of rain. Out of the total, 15 received more than 50mm of rain, with Palsana in Surat recording the highest at 89mm until 8pm, according to State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) data. Some other talukas with high rainfall included Lakhtar in Surendranagar (87mm), Vav in Banaskantha and Kalyanpur in Devbhumi Dwarka (76mm each) and Gadhada in Botad) with 75mm. According to IMD, heavy to very heavy rain is likely at isolated places in Sabarkantha and Aravalli on Saturday, and heavy showers in parts of Banaskantha, Mehsana, Panchmahal, Dahod, Mahisagar, Surat, Dangs, Tapi, Navsari, Valsad, Amreli, and Bhavnagar.
