50% of annual rains recorded; light showers for next 4 days | Ahmedabad News - Times of India

Ahmedabad: Tuesday remained a sunny day with the city's maximum temperature reaching 35.6 degrees celsius, 1.9 degrees above normal. At 26.8 degrees, the minimum temperature was 0.6 degrees above normal. Elsewhere in the state, Kadana (Mahisagar) received 59mm of rainfall until 8pm, followed by 37mm in Vansda (Navsari), 29mm in Danta (Banaskantha), 21mm in Dharampur (Valsad), and 20mm in Lunawada (Mahisagar). In total, 41 out of 252 talukas received at least 1mm of rainfall.According to India Meteorological Department (IMD)'s forecast, light to moderate rains are expected in most parts of the state from Wednesday to Saturday. The state has so far received 50% of the seasonal rainfall.Kutch has received 58% of the rains, followed by 55% in south Gujarat, and 49% in the East-Central and Saurashtra regions. Out of 252 talukas, 18 have received more than 1,000mm of rain, 45 talukas have recorded 501-1,000 mm, while 139 talukas have received 251-500mm of rainfall.
