Ahmedabad: The city on Saturday recorded a sunny day with the maximum temperature reaching 33.2 degrees celsius. The minimum temperature at 27.2 degrees was 0.9 degrees higher than normal. According to the forecast by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city may experience light to moderate rains on Sunday.On Saturday, 86 out of 252 talukas received at least 1mm of rainfall. Una in Gir-Somnath recorded the highest rainfall of 53mm till 8pm, according to the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC), followed by 50mm in Dhrangadhra in Surendranagar, 47mm in Palitana in Bhavnagar, 31mm in Umarpada in Surat, and 30mm each in Umrala in Bhavnagar and Barwala in Botad. The majority of the rainfall was recorded in parts of Saurashtra and South Gujarat districts.The IMD forecast indicated chances of heavy to very heavy rainfall in parts of Aravalli and Mahisagar, and heavy rains in parts of Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Kheda, Anand, Panchmahal, Dahod, Bhavnagar, and Amreli.
