PMC hosts tea parties to celebrate cleanliness drive success | Patna News - Times of India

Patna: In a unique initiative to boost performance in the Swachh Survekshan 2025 rankings, the Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) has launched an intense cleanliness drive across the city. The PMC has focused on beautifying previously identified garbage points (GVPs), transforming them into clean spaces. These sites are now serving as venues for various programmes under a "Swachhata Pakhwada" campaign. As part of this initiative, PMC employees held tea parties at these places on Tuesday, celebrating positive change. The "tea party" event was simultaneously organised at 19 locations across 19 zones in the city. The municipal commissioner is constantly motivating officials to ensure success of this campaign. The awareness drives will continue till July 20. Sustained public awareness campaigns by the PMC has been yielding results with noticeable reduction in open dumping of garbage, said an official. "Road enemies" or individual who habitually litter have been identified in all 75 wards of the city. Each ward aims to identify at least 10 people. Citizens have been urged to actively take part in keeping Patna clean. Residents have been appealed to segregate their wastes and then dispose it of responsibly through the door-to-door collection service.
