Guwahati: The state health department observed World Health Day 2026 on Tuesday on the theme "Together for Health-Stand with Science", with the year-long global campaign highlighting the critical need for scientific collaboration to protect the health of people, animals, plants and the planet, with emphasis on evidence-based action and the 'One Health' approach.The event in the city was attended by the mission director of the National Health Mission (NHM), Assam, the director of health services, and all state programme heads under NHM. Following directions from MD NHM Assam, Lakshmanan S, all programme heads listed at least two wishes to be executed in their respective programmes over the coming year in line with the World Health Day theme. The day was also observed across all districts of the state under the initiative of the National Programme on Climate Change and Human Health (NPCCHH), NHM Assam.A brainstorming session was held at the office of the director of health services in Guwahati.
