Thane: An unidentified 30-year-old man was found dead, possibly by drowning, in the Mumbra Reti Bunder creek on Friday, officials informed. This case comes right after another incident reported -- of an unidentified woman found dead in the waters along the same stretch on Thursday."A man, possibly in his 30s, was found dead in the waters around 10 am, following which civic rescue teams managed to fish the body out and handed it to the police," informed Yasin Tadvi, in charge at the Thane Regional Disaster Management Cell. On Thursday, the RDMC control room received an alert around 5 pm from the Mumbra fire station about the body of an unidentified woman aged around 25 to 30 years found floating in the creek waters near the Ganesh Visarjan Ghat, Mumbra Retibandar.The Mumbra police investigating the cases said they are tracking the identities of the deceased and also verifying any missing person reports in nearby police stations to ascertain if the deaths are related. Accidental death reports were registered independently in both cases, the police said.

Thane, Sep 27 (PTI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000 from a man booked in a case, an official said on Saturday.
