Barn owl rescued from fish tail palm tree at Ribandar | Goa News - The Times of India

Panaji: A firemen at Patto, Ribandar, rescued a barn owl that was trapped in the crown of a 35-ft birlamadd (fish tail palm) tree using a ladder on Saturday. The Old Goa fire station received a call around 1pm after a resident from a nearby building noticed the owl in distress. It had been struggling for some time, sources said. One of the owl's talons had entangled in the tree's triangular bipinnate leaves.A four-member team led by Old Goa fire station in-charge, Rohidas Parab, rushed to the site. Parab then managed to reach the trapped owl and gently pulled it out. The bird flew away into the sky after the nearly half-hour rescue operation. TNN

Bihar: SHO, driver arrested for taking Rs 20,000 bribe

Patna, July 19 (SocialNews.XYZ) In a major action against corruption, the State Vigilance Unit (SVU) on Saturday arrested Sub-Inspector Putul Kumari, the SHO of the Women's Police Station in Samastipur, for accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000.
