Art exhibition at SU highlights importance of polio eradication

HYDERABAD - In connection with the world polio eradication day, an art exhibition highlighting the importance of polio prevention was organized at the Institute of Art & Design, University of Sindh Jamshoro on Friday. The exhibition was jointly inaugurated by SU Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Abdul Sattar Shah, Vice-Chancellor of Larkana University Professor Dr. Naik Muhammad Shaikh, Sindh University Registrar Professor Dr. Mushtaque Ali Jariko, Dean Faculty of Arts Dr. Muhammad Khan Sangi, Rotary Club Hyderabad Mehran's representative Imran Khan, Mukhtiarkar Kotri Feroze Ahmed Burfat, Director of the Institute Dr. Saeed Mangi and others. The artworks and portraits displayed in the exhibition were created by students of the institute. Prior to the inauguration, an awareness rally on polio eradication was taken out, while a documentary highlighting the global fight against polio was also screened. The guests praised the students' creativity and commended their role in promoting social awareness through visual art. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Abdul Sattar Shah said that polio eradication was a humanitarian mission that required collective commitment. He stated that consistent vaccination was vital to protect children from permanent disability. He added that universities must play their role by engaging youth in awareness campaigns and promoting community service through creative platforms. Addressing the ceremony, Vice-Chancellor of Larkana University Professor Dr. Naik Muhammad Shaikh said that Pakistan was among the countries still striving to eliminate polio and public cooperation was crucial to achieve the goal.
