Balasore: A mentally unstable woman was allegedly abducted by a truck driver near Charampa on NH-16 in Bhadrak district early on Friday.According to reports, the woman had taken shelter under the verandah of a roadside shop to protect herself from heavy rainfall. At around 12:55 am, a truck halted on the highway. The driver stepped out, approached the woman and dragged her into the vehicle before speeding away. The entire episode was captured on a nearby CCTV camera and the footage has gone viral on social media, triggering outrage among locals.Additional SP (Bhadrak), Arup Abhishek Behera, said that a case has been registered. "Police have launched a search operation to trace the victim and the accused driver. Efforts are underway to identify the truck through highway surveillance cameras and transport records. Preliminary findings suggest the woman is mentally unstable and was forcibly taken away. Members of the truck drivers' association are also being questioned," he said.
