Hyderabad: Heavy rain lashed several districts across the state, causing streams and lakes to overflow and damaging roads, thereby disrupting traffic movement.The Edupayala Vanadurga Temple in Medak district was closed once again by the temple authorities on Saturday after floodwaters entered the temple premises. In Jayashankar Bhupalpally district, around 100 sheep were killed after being struck by lightning on Sept 11 near Peddapapet village in Mahadevpur mandal. The incident occurred when the shepherds, returning from grazing in a nearby forest, were struck by lightning near the Godavari riverbank.Meanwhile, the body of a 45-year-old man, T Krishna, who was swept away in a stream at Wyra in Khammam district, was recovered on Friday. Krishna, a resident of Chokkapatlapalam village in Errapalem mandal, had gone for swimming in the river when he was carried away by the current. His body was later found within the Madhira municipality limits.During the 24-hour period ending at 8.30 am on Saturday, several parts of Telangana received heavy rainfall. The highest rainfall of 98.0 mm was recorded at Palmela mandal in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district.
