Patna: The 71st BPSC Combined Competitive Preliminary Examination was conducted at 912 centres in 37 districts amid tight security on Saturday. The exam, held in a single shift, saw a turnout of 64.3% of candidates. Candidates described the paper as ranging from moderate to tough.Out of 4,70,588 registered candidates, approximately 3,57,000 downloaded their admit cards.The BPSC issued a notice regarding non-functioning biometric attendance at some centres and assured candidates that physical attendance would be the primary verification method.Rajesh Kumar Singh, exam controller of BPSC, said, "In case of failure of biometric, candidates need not be confused or panic as their physical attendance marking has already been done as per the admit card. Therefore, even if the biometric was not working, it will not make any difference. Biometric is an additional arrangement for the convenience of candidates and to prevent impersonation. Attendance will reach the commission through the centre superintendent."He added, "The exam was successfully conducted at all 912 centres in a peaceful and healthy environment."Meanwhile, candidates offered mixed reactions to the paper's difficulty. Zeeshan, a first-time applicant at A N College, said, "The question paper was moderate. There were many questions from current affairs of the last two years. History and Geography were comparatively easier than current affairs."Mohammad Hakmol, appearing for the exam for the third time, found it more difficult than last year. "The question pattern was new. More than 30% of the questions had options 'all of the above' in it," he said.

NEW DELHI: The Unique Identification Authority of India has urged parents to update the Aadhaar biometrics of children between five and seven years."Timely completion of mandatory biometric update is an essential requirement for maintaining the accuracy and reliability of biometric data of children. JAMMU, June 7: Vehicle retail sales in Jammu and Kashmir witnessed a significant drop in May 2025, mainly due to ongoing geopolitical tensions in sensitive border areas. As per data shared by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), most vehicle categories showed a decline.
