Kolkata: The RG Kar victim's parents on Wednesday said it was only after the intervention of Kolkata Police commissioner Manoj Verma that their complaint was accepted by cops. After approaching Shakespeare Sarani, Park Street and New Market police stations, the complaint was finally recorded as a general diary at New Market Police Station on Tuesday."It was only after I mailed Kolkata Police commissioner Manoj Verma about this harassment that the complaint was accepted," the father told TOI. He also accused senior cops of claiming they had no video footage or CCTV evidence of the alleged assault on his wife. "The cops are so shameless that they are asking others for video footage to prove the incident," he said.Verma, speaking to reporters on Wednesday, said, "We have not yet found evidence to support the allegation made by the victim's mother that cops beat her. However, since she carried an injury, we are studying the footage near Park Street."Reacting to Trinamool spokesperson Kunal Ghosh's legal notice, the victim's father said, "I have not yet received it. If I get it, I will consult my lawyer and take legal steps accordingly."
