Rajasthan borewell rescue: Efforts to rescue five-year-old Aryan, who fell into a 150-foot-deep borewell in Kalikhad village of Dausa, Rajasthan, have entered their third day, with National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams working tirelessly to save him. The rescue operation, which began shortly after Aryan fell into the borewell around 3 pm on Monday, involves drilling a parallel shaft to reach the child. NDRF Commandant Yogesh Kumar outlined the challenges, stating, "We are digging up to 150 feet but cannot go beyond that. Our rescuers will descend with protective equipment to extract the child." The borewell depth of 150 feet, combined with water levels estimated at 160 feet, poses significant risks. Submersible pumps are being used to mitigate flooding risks. Underground steam has obstructed visibility, making it difficult to monitor Aryan's movements via the camera lowered into the borewell. Drilling machines have already reached 110 feet, and the team plans to extend to 150 feet. Once at the target depth, a horizontal casing will be created to access and retrieve Aryan. The incident occurred as Aryan was playing in an agricultural field when he accidentally fell into the open borewell. The rescue team continues to work against the clock, hoping for a successful outcome in this high-stakes operation.

Itanagar, Jun 7 (PTI) The flood situation in Arunachal Pradesh improved on Saturday with water levels of most rivers receding, even as 33,000 people in 24 districts remained affected, officials said.
