Out of the total rescues, 3,337 were venomous snakes and 2,617 were non-venomous. Most venomous rescues involved the spectacled cobra (2,970), followed by Russell's viper (344) and common krait (23). Ahead of World Snake Day on July 16, FOS launched a new initiative to reduce snakebite deaths in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh by 50 per cent by 2030. Parents Protest Sudden School Closure Hyderabad: Parents gathered outside the Sri Chaitanya School branch in Koti on Monday, demanding answers from the management over its abrupt closure. The building has remained locked for 10 days, leaving families confused and distressed. Several parents said they were asked to shift their children to other branches but received no further clarification. According to officials from the education department, the school was sealed due to the lack of necessary permissions. This came as a shock to parents who had already paid annual fees and purchased textbooks. Many chose the branch for its proximity to their homes and are now unwilling to transfer their children to distant locations without prior notice or assistance. Parents said they felt misled by the management's silence on the matter and criticised the lack of transparency. Standing outside the locked premises, they expressed concern that their children's academic year had been disrupted even before it properly began. Postmortem Conducted on Skeletal Remains Hyderabad: A postmortem was conducted on the skeletal remains found inside a locked house in Nampally on Monday, a day after a teenager discovered the body while retrieving his cricket ball. The house had reportedly remained shut for nearly seven years. Police sources told Deccan Chronicle that the autopsy was performed at the house and preliminary findings revealed no visible injuries on the skeleton. "There were no signs of trauma or fractures. It appears to be a natural death, although the conclusion will follow forensic analysis," a senior official said. A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) collected samples, including teeth and bone fragments, to determine the exact identity of the deceased. Although a mobile phone recovered at the scene helped identify the man, DNA confirmation will be done by matching samples with his brother, as the deceased's parents are no longer alive. The family of Ameer Khan, who went missing in 2015, identified personal belongings found with the remains, including a metal kada and a ring he used to wear. Police had also recovered the mobile phone with 84 missed calls and demonetised currency notes. The Habeebnagar police, along with CLUES and FSL teams, are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
