New Delhi: In a tragic late-night incident, a speeding white Audi driven by an intoxicated man ran over five people sleeping on a footpath near Shiva Camp in Vasant Vihar, southwest Delhi. The accident, which occurred around 1:45 am on July 9, left two couples and an eight-year-old girl injured. The accused, 40-year-old Utsav Shekhar, a resident of Dwarka, was arrested on the spot by police personnel. Medical tests confirmed he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. According to the police, the victims, Ladhi (40), her husband Sabami alias Chirma (45), their daughter Bimla (8), and another couple, Ram Chander (45) and Narayani (35), are all residents of Rajasthan.
