Mysuru: Four members of a family were brutally attacked with sharp weapons while they were travelling in an autorickshaw in Mysuru on Thursday night. Police took up a case of attempted murder. The incident occurred on 14th Cross, Ramanuja Road in Agrahara, around 9.30pm.Footage of the attack has gone viral. A group of men is seen assaulting the occupants with machetes in full public view. No passersby dared to try to prevent the attack.The incident was captured on CCTV and mobile phone cameras. Footage, which is being circulated on social media shows panicked bystanders, as the assailants fled the scene.All four victims, who sustained serious injuries, were rushed to a nearby hospital. Police said the injured are out of danger.DCP (crime) KS Sundar Raj said a case of attempted murder against four individuals is registered, and an investigation has been launched by Krishnaraja police.An officer said that the attack happened when an accused in the Pocso case was leaving a police station after giving his statement in the case. His wife, mother-in-law, and niece were with him in the auto at the time of the attack.
