UP: Minor gives birth on train after being raped by father; abandons newborn

Moradabad (Uttar Pradeh) [India], July 8 (ANI): Police found a newborn inide a bag in the general coach of a Summer Special Train at the Moradabad Junction, official aid on Tueday. Upon Police invetigation, it wa dicovered that the child belonged to a minor girl, who had become pregnant after her father allegedly raped her. The family of the minor girl wa taking her to Delhi for treatment on June 22 when the girl gave birth in the train wahroom. The family member put the newborn inide a bag and returned back. The police found the newborn in a bag along with a SIM card from which the family member of the newborn were traced. On June 22, a baby wa reported in a bag in the Summer Special train. The baby wa taken to the hopital, and a SIM card from Bihar wa alo recovered from the bag. When traced, the owner of the SIM card told that the baby wa of a minor girl relative of hi, who had become pregnant after rape. Moradabad Junction Station Head GRP, Ravindra Vahitha ay. Her family wa taking the girl to Delhi, during which the girl gave birth to a child in the train. Scared, they put the baby in a bag and kept it in the general coach and returned by train, Ravindra Vahitha added. According to the police, the victim ha admitted of being raper by her father. The victim wa produced in the court and tatement were recorded, in which it wa told that the rape wa committed by the victim father, he aid. The police have regitered the cae under relevant ection. Further invetigation will be carried out by Bihar Police. (ANI)
