JAMMU, July 7: Based on the traditional Ayurvedic technique, Patanjali launched a new product called Dant Kanti Gandush Oil Pulling in a function held here today. "Gandush" or oil pulling is considered an essential part of daily routine (Dinacharya) in Ayurveda. The grand launch was conducted by Swami Ramdev, Acharya Balkrishna and senior members of the Indian Dental Association (IDA), Uttarakhand Chapter, pesident Dr Rajeev Bansal, secretary Dr Vishwajit Walia and treasurer Dr Vaibhav Pahwa. Speaking on the occasion, Swami Ramdev said, "this is a new milestone in the field of Yoga and Ayurveda. Patanjali is promoting not only healthcare but also India's rich culture, traditions and scientific heritage. People today have forgotten how to manage and cooperate with their own bodies and Patanjali is helping to teach this through Yoga and Ayurveda. This dental product shows that India's ancient wisdom is still relevant today." Acharya Balkrishna added that this product is the result of three years of dedicated research by scientists at Patanjali Research Institute. New Delhi, May 29 (PTI) A genetic study has traced a 2023 outbreak of a neurological infection in Tamil Nadu to contaminated saline water used at a dental clinic, findings of which were published in The Lancet Regional Health Southeast Asia journal. Twenty-one probable cases of neuromelioidosis -- a neurological infection caused by bacterium Burkholderia pseudomallei -- between July 2022 and April 2023 were identified across four districts in the northern part of the state.
