Jaipur: With the onset of the monsoon, Rajasthan has started reporting a rise in dengue cases. According to the health department, 75 dengue cases have been recorded in the last 45 days from different parts of the state. As mosquito-borne diseases begin to surface, the health department is conducting surveys and launching preventive measures in affected areas. "All chief medical and health officers have been instructed to take proactive steps, including awareness campaigns, district-level task force meetings, and coordinated mosquito control activities in high-risk zones," a senior official said.Health data reveals that dengue cases peaked in 2021 with 20,141 reported cases, followed by 12,979 in 2022, 13,924 in 2023, and 12,514 in 2024. In 2025, 440 dengue cases have been reported so far.The department is also working to prevent the spread of malaria. In 2024, Rajasthan reported 2,213 malaria cases, while only 263 have been reported up to June 30 this year. Officials credit ongoing public awareness efforts for the decline. "We are encouraging community participation through larva identification demonstrations and educational audio-visual tools," the official added.
