Ahmedabad: The eighth round of the second phase of undergraduate admission process through the GCAS portal for the academic year 2025-26 concluded on Thursday. A total of 2,11,052 students confirmed their admissions across all rounds of the first phase and up to the seventh round of the second phase. As many as 1,13,032 students remained eligible for admission after the seventh round. In this round, 81,639 verified students received admission offers based on their preferences and university-college intake capacity. Out of these, 17,233 students confirmed their admission online. Additionally, 13,124 students confirmed their admission through in-person visits to colleges or universities.Despite the high number of offers, only around 13,124 students confirmed their admission by 5pm on July 3, marking the close of Round 8 in Phase 2. To accommodate students who cancelled their admission in earlier phases or those wishing to change their university-college-programme preferences, a special admission round will be conducted. Document verification for the special round must be done in person at the nearest verification centre on July 4. The special round will include five rapid rounds in one day, starting from July 7 to July 11. Students applying in this round must get their applications verified on July 4, especially if they fall into any of the eligible categories.This special round aims to provide a final opportunity to students seeking undergraduate admission for the 2025-26 academic year.
