'Stay Put For Next 48 Hours, Avoid Military Sites': Govt Advisory For Indians In Iran

New Delhi: With Donald Trump's deadline for Iran set to end in nine hours, and the US President saying that "a whole civilization will die tonight", the Indian Embassy in Tehran on Tuesday evening issued an urgent advisory for its citizens in that country. Amid an extremely tense situation, the government instructed Indian nationals to "stay where they are" for the next 48 hours, and avoid sensitive areas such as electric and military installations, and upper floors of multi-storeyed buildings. The Embassy also provided its emergency numbers which are operational. "Those in Embassy-hired hotels should stay put indoors while maintaining regular contact with on-site embassy teams. All are requested to monitor official updates closely. The Embassy's emergency numbers below (989128109115, 989128109102, 989128109109, 989932179359) remain operational," the Embassy said, and also shared an official email address for communication.
