Indian embassy issues urgent advisory to citizens in Iran amid Trump threat

Srinagar, Apr 07: Indian Embassy in Iran has issued an urgent 48-hour safety advisory for citizens in Iran, advising them to avoid all electric, military installations and upper floors of multi-storey buildings. The advisory comes after US President Donald Trump issued fresh warning to Iran, stating that "a whole civilisation will die tonight" if Iran does not make a deal. He however had said that Iran still has time to capitulate ahead of a deadline set for 8 pm in Washington. The American leader issued the stark threat Tuesday, about 12 hours ahead of his deadline for Iran to agree to a deal that includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz or face punishing strikes. Indian Embassy in Iran in its advisory stated that in continuation of previous advisories, Indian nationals who are still in Iran must stay where they are for the next 48-hours, avoiding all electric, military installations and upper floors of multi-storey buildings, remaining indoors, and coordinating any highway movement strictly with the Embassy The advisory stated that those in Embassy-hired hotels should stay put indoors while maintaining regular contact with on-site embassy teams.
