HYDERABAD: Hussaini Alam police on Sunday arrested Sahil Akber, son of a former MIM corporator, for his alleged involvement in a violent altercation during a GHMC anti-encroachment drive at Murgi Chowk on Saturday. In a press note, Charminar DCP Khare Kiran Prabhakar said that at around 10.15 am on Saturday, GHMC officials, supported by police personnel, were carrying out an official drive to remove illegal encroachments from Laad Bazar to Puranapool. At Murgi Chowk, the accused, Sahil Akber, along with Ghouse, a former corporator, and Rahmath Baig, an MLC, allegedly formed an unlawful assembly along with several associates and obstructed officials.
