Yamuna Pushta Road: The Noida Authority on Friday announced plans to expand the Yamuna Pushta road, connecting Noida and Greater Noida, into a 10-lane corridor to accommodate the anticipated surge in traffic once the Noida International Airport becomes operational. "Currently, the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway is the main road connecting Noida with Greater Noida and Jewar. However, traffic pressure will increase significantly once the airport becomes operational. The Yamuna Pushta road, which runs from Noida Sector 94 and connects Sector 150, will be redeveloped," Hindustan Times quoted Krishna Karunesh, Chief Executive Officer, Noida Authority, as saying. The CEO added that the Yamuna Pushta Road will be widened to 8-10 lanes to meet the future demand, or initially developed as at least a six-lane stretch with scope for further expansion. Last month, a team from the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) and the irrigation department conduction site inspection of the proposed elevated road to assess its feasibility and alignment, the officials added. Officials said the corridor is expected to provide a direct route from Delhi to Jewar Airport and reduce travel time while reducing pressure on the existing roads. Almondz Global Infra has been appointed to carry out a feasibility study, following which a detailed project report will be completed within three months. According to officials, the project is expected to be completed within 24 months, with costs to be shared by the Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna authorities.
