Kendrapara: Two persons have been detained by the police in connection with the death of a minor girl who had gone missing in Odisha's Kendrapada district. Benu Charan Das and Prashant are being interrogated by the police, after the seven-year-old girl's family levelled allegations of their involvement in her disappearance and death. According to sources, the daughter of Managobinda Senapati had gone missing from their residence in Badakohla village under Rajnagar police limits around 11 am on April 2. Her family filed a complaint with the police. Rajnagar police launched a search operation to trace the minor. Cops along with dog squads kept searching to find the girl. Unfortunately, her body of was recovered from a canal in Rajanagar on Friday. The probe intensified following the discovery of her body. Her body has been sent to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Rajnagar for post-mortem examination. Her family has alleged that their neighbours orchestrated her kidnapping and murder over past enmity. Kendrapada Superintendent of Police (SP) visited the site and checked the progress of the investigation. Scientific team reached the canal and nearby areas to gather clues.
