TN RTE admission 2026: Parents in Tamil Nadu looking to secure Class LKG and I admissions under the Right to Education (RTE) Act for the 2026-27 academic year can start planning, as key dates approach. Applications will open on April 20 and close on May 18, giving families nearly a month to submit forms either online at the official TN RTE portal or directly at their chosen private school.Verification of documents and age criteria will also be strictly checked this year. The children applying for LKG should have been born between August 1, 2022, and July 31, 2023, and those applying for Class I should have been born between August 1, 2019, and July 31, 2020. Applicants from the EWS category should prove that their family income per annum is not more than Rs 2 lakh.TN RTE 2026-27 dates and deadlines:How to apply and necessary documentsParents should provide evidence about the child's date of birth, address, caste/category, and income proof.
