New Delhi: A strong earthquake measuring 5.9 on Richter scale hit Afghanistan around 9.45 pm on Friday. Tremors were felt across Delhi-NCR and several parts of north India, triggering panic among residents who rushed out of homes and office buildings. Residents of Delhi and its adjoining areas were enjoying a cool evening, thanks to heavy showers after a severe dust storm when they were shaken up by tremors.
