All arrangements in place for IPL extravaganza at Telangana's Uppal

HYDERABAD: The Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal, where seven matches are scheduled on April 5, 13, 18, 21 and May 3, 6 and 22. The stadium, which has a seating capacity of around 39,000, will be under elaborate security cover involving Law and Order, Traffic, Security Wing, TSSP/AR force, Mounted Police, Vajra units, Special Branch, bomb disposal teams and fire services. Gate No. 1 has been reserved exclusively for players, while spectators will be allowed entry through designated gates as per their tickets. An evacuation plan has also been put in place to handle any emergency. As part of surveillance measures, around 430 CCTV cameras have been installed across the stadium, entry routes, checkpoints and parking areas. A joint command and control room will continuously monitor the footage to enable a swift response. Anti-sabotage checks by bomb disposal teams will be carried out round the clock on match days. Spectators are not allowed to carry items such as laptops, cameras, bags, water bottles, cigarettes, lighters, sharp objects, perfumes, helmets, batteries, binoculars and outside food. No cloakroom facility will be available at the venue. SHE Teams will also be deployed to prevent eve-teasing and ensure the safety of spectators. Traffic restrictions will be enforced on all roads leading to Uppal stadium on match days. Citizens are advised to use public transport such as RTC buses and Metro Rail. Ground parking is reserved only for VVIP, VIP and authorised pass holders, who must enter through Gate 1A.
