HYDERABAD: Vamsi Rama Mohan Burra has taken charge as chairman and managing director of the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, a maharatna under the Union power ministry. He was previously director (projects). Burra, with over 33 years of experience in power transmission and telecom, will serve as CMD until July 31, 2030, the date of his superannuation, or until further orders. Burra was born and brought up in Hyderabad and his early education here, his father having served in the BHEL. Burra did BTech from Srikrishnadeva Raya University in Anantpur and completed the Harvard Manage Mentor Programme and advanced management courses at the Indian School of Business (ISB), Hyderabad.
