West Asia Crisis: Govt Provides Full Customs Duty Exemption On Critical Petrochemical Products

New Delhi: The Centre has decided to provide full customs duty exemption on critical petrochemical products for three months due to the ongoing West Asia crisis, providing the much-needed "temporary and targeted relief" to the industry. Addressing the Inter Ministerial Briefing on Recent Developments in West Asia, Sanjay Mangal, member CBIC said the move has been taken to provide continuous availability of critical petrochemical inputs for domestic industry, reduce cost pressures on downstream sectors and provide supply stability in the country.
