New Delhi, April 2 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has signed an agreement with MapmyIndia to enable display of authorised Aadhaar centres on its Mappls App to enhance convenience for residents, an official statement said on Thursday. Users can identify and access authorised Aadhaar centres based on the nature of services offered, like adult enrolment, child enrolment or only address and mobile update, the statement added. The agreement was signed on April 1, 2026 and it formed the collaboration to enhance public convenience, combat misinformation, and ensure residents have seamless access to state-of-the-art Aadhaar Seva Kendras (ASKs) and other Aadhaar centres, nationwide, the statement from Ministry of Electronics and IT said. MapmyIndia will integrate UIDAI-provided Aadhaar Centre information into the Mappls platform and ensure accurate representation, digital mapping and distinct listing of Aadhaar centres. "UIDAI is always driven by resident centricity. This kind of collaboration will allow digital mapping of verified Aadhaar Centres across India and help people find the authorised Aadhaar centres easily," said Bhuvnesh Kumar, CEO, UIDAI. Earlier, UIDAI and US tech giant Google entered a similar partnership for display of authorised Aadhaar centres on Google Maps. Information related to centre accessibility, including features such as divyang-friendly infrastructure and availability of parking facilities, operating hours, will also be displayed wherever applicable, further enhancing convenience for residents, an official statement said. In the next phase of the collaboration, UIDAI will use Google Business Profile to manage centre information and respond directly to people's feedback, ensuring a transparent and responsive service ecosystem. The partnership in the next phase will explore direct appointment booking through the Google Maps interface allowing residents to plan their visits more effectively. A new Aadhaar mobile app was launched in January to make identity verification faster, safer and more citizen‑friendly by enabling users to carry and share their digital identity from their mobile phones.
