Chandigarh, Apr 1 (PTI) Flight operations from Halwara Airport near Ludhiana will commence from May 15, 2026 with booking expected to open soon, officials said on Wednesday. Initially, two Air India flights will connect Ludhiana with Delhi, fulfilling a long-pending demand of over 30 years, they said. Punjab Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora, along with his wife, is expected to take the inaugural flight from Delhi to Halwara on May 15, marking a significant milestone. The development follows sustained efforts to boost regional connectivity and accelerate economic growth in Ludhiana and nearby districts. The state government, under the leadership of AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, played a key role in expediting the long-pending project.
