BHOPAL: Development of education infrastructure has helped Madhya Pradesh achieve zero school dropout and increase in the enrollment of students. This was informed by Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mohan Yadav while launching the state-level Pravesh Utsav (Admission Festival) marking commencement of admissions in government schools in the state on Wednesday. The state government launched a four-day 'School Chale Hum' (Let Us Go to School) campaign across Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday to boost enrollment in the government schools. He attributed the achievement of bringing down school dropout to zero to the simplification of the admission process for Class 1, Class VI and Class IX in the state. This measure has also resulted in a significant 19.6 percent increase in overall enrolment during the academic year 2025-26, he informed. "Government schools in the state have recorded a 32.4 percent increase in enrollment, reflecting growing public trust in the government education system", he said. The state government has set a target of 1.45 crore student enrollment in schools during the current session, he added. Highlighting the development of education infrastructure in the state, the chief minister said 369 grand 'Sandepani Schools' have been established in the state, which are among the best schools in the country. These schools provide all the facilities required for the holistic development of students. PM SHRI Schools are also playing a significant role in strengthening the modern education system, he said. A short film based on the "School Chale Hum" campaign was screened on the occasion. He said that the 'School Chale Hum' campaign is an innovative initiative to connect children with the education system. He said that over four lakh school children will be provided free bicycles to facilitate them to go to school. Students are also being provided free uniforms, textbooks, and meals. He said that as many as 76,325 teachers have been appointed to address shortage of teachers in the government schools.
