Delhi Pollution Live Updates: AQI crosses 400 in several areas as thick blanket of smog covers National Capital

Delhi Pollution Live Updates: On Tuesday morning, a toxic haze engulfed the National Capital, affecting visibility and delaying flights and trains. According to the reports, Delhi experienced another day of hazardous air as the Air Quality Index (AQI) crossed 400 mark on Tuesday morning, keeping the city in the "severe" pollution category. On Monday, due to low visibility amid a thick layer of toxic haze, at least 228 flights - including 131 departures and 97 arrivals - have been cancelled in Delhi, while five others have been diverted. India's pollution watchdog classifies AQI levels of 101-200 as moderate, 201-300 as poor, 301-400 as very poor, and anything above 400 as severe. It is important to note that over 200,000 cases of acute respiratory illnesses were recorded in six state-run hospitals in Delhi between 2022 and 2024 as the capital struggled with rising pollution levels, the federal government told parliament earlier this month.
