Mumbai air quality improves a little in moderate range; Sion AQI best, Govandi worst | Mumbai News - The Times of India

Mumbai: The city's overall AQI improved marginally to 122 on Monday from 131 a day earlier, remaining in the moderate range. While air quality was largely stable across Mumbai, Shivaji Nagar in Govandi continued to record severely polluted air for the second consecutive day, with an AQI of 229, slightly higher than 226 a day earlier, making it the worst-affected area in the city and the only location in the poor category.At the other end of the spectrum, Sion recorded the cleanest air, with an AQI of 41, placing it in the good category. Several locations remained in the satisfactory range, including Bhandup (87), Mazgaon (82), Malad (82), Mulund (60) and Worli (100). All other monitoring stations recorded AQI levels in the moderate range. An AQI reading between 0-50 is considered good, 51-100 satisfactory, 101-200 moderate, 201-300 poor, 301-400 very poor, and above 400 severe.
