New Delhi, Dec 15 (UNI) The Delhi Traffic Police on Monday issued a traffic advisory in view of the "Lionel Messi G.O.A.T India Tour - Delhi Leg" event scheduled to be held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Ferozshah Kotla Ground, from 1 pm to 4 pm on December 15. According to the advisory, traffic movement is expected to remain slow and regulated in and around the stadium due to diversions, restrictions, and heavy spectator movement during the event hours. Traffic diversions and restrictions will be enforced on Bahadurshah Zafar Marg and Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, while the movement of heavy vehicles has been prohibited from Daryaganj to Bahadurshah Zafar Marg and from Guru Nanak Chowk to Asaf Ali Road. The police have advised commuters to avoid several key stretches between noon and 5 pm, including Jawaharlal Nehru Marg from Rajghat to Delhi Gate up to Kamla Market, Asaf Ali Road from Turkman Gate to Delhi Gate, and Bahadurshah Zafar Marg from Delhi Gate to Ramcharan Aggarwal Chowk (ITO), on both carriageways. Entry to the stadium has been categorised by gate numbers, with Gates 1 to 8 accessible from Bahadurshah Zafar Marg on the southern side, Gates 10 to 15 from JLN Marg near the Ambedkar Stadium Bus Terminal on the eastern side, and Gates 16 to 18 from Bahadurshah Zafar Marg near the petrol pump on the western side. Free parking facilities have been arranged at Mata Sundari Road, Rajghat Power House Road and Velodrome Road. Parking near the stadium will be restricted to labelled vehicles only, and entry to designated parking areas will be permitted via the Vikram Nagar cut on Bahadurshah Zafar Marg near Shahidi Park. The advisory also states that parking will not be allowed on Bahadurshah Zafar Marg, JLN Marg and Ring Road between Rajghat and the I.P. Flyover. Illegally parked vehicles will be towed and prosecuted. App-based taxi pick-up and drop-off points have been designated at Maulana Azad Medical College Gate No. 2 on Bahadurshah Zafar Marg and at Rajghat Chowk. The Delhi Traffic Police has urged commuters to plan their travel in advance and stay updated through its official communication channels.
