Thane: Fire breaks out at cloth dyeing unit in Bhiwandi; Blaze under control after 6 hours, no casualties reported | Mumbai News - The Times of India

Thane: A major fire broke out at a ground-plus-three-storey cloth dyeing unit in Saravali MIDC, Bhiwandi, on Friday morning. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, though it took nearly six hours for the fire brigade to bring the blaze under control. The fire erupted around 9:45am, when workers were engaged in their routine tasks. As soon as the flames were noticed, the staff quickly evacuated the premises. Within minutes, the fire spread throughout the entire unit.The Bhiwandi Fire Brigade rushed to the spot, but due to the intensity of the blaze, additional fire engines were called in from neighbouring Thane and Kalyan-Dombivli municipal corporations to assist in the firefighting operation. A fire official stated, "After six hours, we have managed to bring the fire under control, but it will take more time to completely extinguish it." The owner of the unit, who was present at the spot, informed the fire brigade that all employees had safely exited the building before the fire spread further. The exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined, and further investigation is underway.
