Alappuzha: Amid the heated political controversy over PM SHRI in Kerala, CPI national secretary D Raja asserted that his party would not support the Central scheme that aims to communalise and commercialise India's education system. Addressing the media here on Sunday, the CPI leader said that the CPM should now declare its stance on PM SHRI. "CPI has been opposing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. We are against the communalisation, centralisation and commercialisation of our education system. The BJP government at the Centre has always attempted to undermine federalism in the country. Kerala's decision to implement PM SHRI is now being widely debated, and people are agitated over the government's stance. So, the CPM should make an official announcement whether it supports the Centre's scheme or not," said Raja.
