Hyderabad: Just a day after a private bus fire charred to death 19 passengers in Andhra Pradesh's Kurnool, another mishap involving a private bus was reported on the outskirts of Hyderabad Saturday afternoon.A NueGo electric bus going to Guntur in AP from Miyapur in city, overturned near Pedda Amberpet toll plaza around 12.35 pm, after the driver lost control of the vehicle while driving rashly, police said.The bus was carrying six passengers, two drivers, and a conductor at the time of the accident. The vehicle hit the median before overturning, leaving several occupants injured. Fortunately, there were no casualties, and no traffic disruption was reported in the area, police said.Four injured passengers, Shaik Zaheer (20), Akula Gayatri (23), Kasthik Subash (23), and A Prabhakar (30), all residents of Guntur and Mangalagiri, were shifted to a private hospital in Hayathnagar. The remaining five, including two drivers and a conductor, were taken to Apollo DRDO Hospital, Kanchanbagh. They were identified as Mounica (26), Prathusha (26), Vera Anjaneya Reddy (63), main driver Srinivas (35), the alternate driver, and the conductor."All the victims suffered minor injuries, and they are out of danger. We have conducted a breath analyser test on the driver. The result came negative. We suspect he was speeding at a turn and lost control. There is a CCTV camera inside the bus. We have asked the company to provide the footage," Abdullapurmet inspector V Ashok Reddy said.Police have registered a case under sections 125(a) (for causing hurt by an act endangering human life), and 281 (rash driving on a public way) of BNS. An investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident. Authorities have urged private transport operators to adhere to road safety regulations, especially after the recent spate of bus accidents across the region.
