New Delhi: Environment minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said on Tuesday that conditions were not feasible for cloud seeding, so govt would wait for adequate moisture to complete the process. He had earlier said govt would explore cloud seeding as an option a day after Diwali to fix pollution levels.Addressing a press conference, the minister claimed that the spike in pollution levels this year was less compared to previous years. There was only a marginal spike in AQI levels from 345 to 351 on Diwali and the following day, he said. "This clearly proves that crackers are not the main cause of pollution. Delhiites celebrated responsibly and our measures ensured stability in air quality," he added.Sirsa also blamed AAP for not controlling the stubble burning in Punjab. While AAP functionaries "condemned Delhi CM, BJP and Sanatan Dharm followers over the celebration of Diwali and the bursting of crackers", the real reason behind the worsening air quality was stubble burning in Punjab, he alleged. "Over the past four days, stubble-burning incidents in Punjab have surged sharply -- and this is no coincidence... Farmers are being pressured and provoked to burn stubble so that pollution in Delhi can be used politically to target Delhi govt," claimed Sirsa while targeting AAP, which heads govt in Punjab. "Arvind Kejriwal and his team are trying to politicise a sacred festival. Diwali is not the property of any political party -- it is the festival of India's soul. Calling Diwali a 'sin' is an insult to our faith and culture," the minister said. "This is the same party that banned crackers to please one section of voters and now labels those celebrating Diwali as 'wrongdoers'. These are the same people who once opposed Lord Shri Ram inside the assembly," Sirsa added. "Will AAP challenge the sacrifice of goats on Eid by our Muslim community?
