From creating colourful rangolis and planting saplings indoors to adhering to the use of green fireworks, these residents opted for eco-friendly celebrations this Diwali.Hazra resident Arushi Bhattacharya planted saplings in her window sills to keep the polluting air at bay as far as possible. She said: "I am unable to open the windows because of crackers' pollution on the road. For a green Diwali, I stopped using incense sticks and traditional diyas. Rather, I am using battery candles and diyas. I have pet cats at home, so my adoption of green Diwali also keeps them safe indoors."Residents of some housing complexes also opted for noiseless Diwali celebrations.
