JAISALMER: Just three days after the Jaisalmer bus fire tragedy, another horrific accident shook Balotara district late Wednesday night.On the mega highway near Sada village in the Sindhri police station area, a head-on collision between a trailer and a Scorpio resulted in both vehicles catching fire. Of the five friends travelling in the Scorpio, four were burned alive, while one sustained serious injuries and was referred to a hospital in Jodhpur.The collision was so severe that both vehicles were completely reduced to ashes. Authorities confirmed that the deceased will be identified through DNA testing. On receiving the news, Balotara District Collector Sushil Kumar Yadav, SP Ramesh, and DSP Neeraj Sharma rushed to the site, and the fire brigade brought the flames under control after strenuous efforts.The victims were identified as Mohansingh (35), Shambhusinh (20), Pancharam (22), and Prakash (28), all residents of Dabad police station, Gudamalani district, Barmer. The injured driver, Dilipsingh, also a resident of Dabad, was taken to Sindhri Hospital and later referred to Balotara for treatment.According to police, the youths were returning from Sindhri for work when the Scorpio collided with the trailer coming from the opposite direction, triggering a massive fire. Nearby villagers rushed to help, but the flames had already spread. The accident also caused a long traffic jam, which was cleared after the vehicles were removed.The authorities are investigating the incident to determine the exact cause. Police confirmed that all four victims were completely burned, and DNA testing will be conducted before handing the bodies over to their families.
