Photo: Ani Photo A complaint has been filed against Royal Challengers Bengaluru's Starbag Virat Kohli at the police station of Cubbon Park in connection with the Sampede of 4 June near the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru that lived and did not injure dozens. The complainant, HM Venkatesh, accused Kohli of promoting what he described as 'gambling by IPL', claiming that it encouraged the enormous crowd that led to the tragedy. The police said that the complaint will be considered under the already registered case and investigated as part of the current investigation into the incident. In the meantime, a Bengaluru Sessions Court has returned four people on Friday, including senior RCB officer Nikhil Sosale and three event managers, up to 14 days of judicial detention in connection with the Stampede. They were arrested in a joint operation by the Cubbon Park Police and the Central Crime Branch (CCB) on Kempegowda International Airport in the early hours of Friday. Earlier in the day, the Karnataka High Court interim exemption granted the office retarders of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), who had approached the court to destroy the FIR against them in connection with the Stampede. Ltd., a business management company, and KSCA for culpable murder, illegal meeting and other serious charges. A day after the Stormloop that claimed the life of 11 people, the Karnataka Police suspended several IPS officers, including the police commissioner of Bengaluru City, B Dayananda. Apart from Dayananda, additional commissioner of police Vikash Kumar Vikash, deputy police commissioner (Central) Shekhar HT, assistant commissioner of police Balakrishna and Cubbon Park Police inspector Girish AK were also suspended.
