Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar has called out the "double standards" in the West's attitude towards the energy, food, and fertilizer requirements of the Global South. Speaking at the G20 Foreign Ministers' Meeting on the sidelines of the United Nationals General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, Jaishankar said global conflicts are disrupting energy supplies and leading to cost escalations. "Apart from jeopardizing supplies and logistics, access and costs themselves became pressure points on nations," he said. "Double standards are clearly in evidence." Jaishankar added that the costs of energy and commodities have been rising due to the conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine, and that this had a major impact on Global South nations.
