Hyderabad: A 43-year-old man, Sheikh Irfan, who arrived in Mumbai from Tanzania, has been arrested by Adilabad police. He was wanted in a case for allegedly inciting communal disharmony through WhatsApp messages.Sheikh Irfan, a resident of Khurshidnagar in Adilabad, was accused of posting provocative messages in a WhatsApp group that could incite communal tensions, while also targeting law enforcement officers. While residing in Tanzania, he was reportedly posting objectionable content in a WhatsApp group based in Adilabad, for which he was the administrator.As Irfan was living abroad, Adilabad SP Akhil Mahajan had a Look Out Circular (LOC) issued against him. Upon his arrival from Tanzania at Mumbai International Airport on September 23, Adilabad police were alerted, following which a team travelled to Mumbai and brought him back. He was produced before a magistrate on Thursday and remanded in judicial custody for 14 days. Police also seized his passport and two mobile phones. tnn
