Srinagar, Sept 25: The Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday apprehended a Pakistani intruder along the International Border (IB) in the R S Pura sector of Jammu, marking the second such arrest from the area this month. Officials said the individual was intercepted after alert troops noticed suspicious movement near the border fence and swiftly overpowered him upon entering Indian territory. "No incriminating material was recovered from the intruder. He has been handed over to joint teams of security agencies for detailed questioning," an official said, adding that his identity and motive for crossing into Indian territory are under verification. A senior BSF officer posted in the Jammu frontier told Rising Kashmir that the arrest reflects the heightened alertness of troops along the border. "Our men remain vigilant round the clock. The individual was detected the moment he tried to sneak in, and he was overpowered before he could move further inside. Such attempts highlight the persistent challenges we face along the border," the officer said. He added that while initial questioning has not yielded evidence of weapons or contraband, the intruder's background will be thoroughly checked. "Even if an individual is unarmed, we treat each case with seriousness. Sometimes people cross by mistake, but infiltration attempts are also a reality.
